About

An Australian handwriting service, built deliberately

Autopen Australia is a new business. That is an unusual thing to lead with, and it is deliberate — the alternative is a page full of implied history that does not exist.

What we are

Autopen Australia is an Australian direct-mail service that writes letters, cards and envelopes in bulk with a real pen held by a writing machine, so businesses can send genuinely handwritten mail at campaign volumes.

The idea is not new — writing machines have existed for two centuries and handwritten direct mail is an established channel overseas. What is thin in Australia is supply. There are very few local operators, almost no published pricing, and very little honest writing about when the channel is worth using and when it is not.

So the plan is narrow: do a small number of formats properly, publish what things cost, and be straight about what we can and cannot do yet.

What we will not claim

A new business in this category is under a lot of pressure to sound established. We would rather be useful, so here is the list of things you will not find on this site:

  • No testimonials or case studies. We have not run enough campaigns to have earned any, and inventing them is the easiest lie in marketing.
  • No customer logos. Same reason.
  • No response-rate statistics attributed to us. Where we cite published figures at all, we link to the source and say what it does and does not support.
  • No guaranteed turnaround on the website. Turnaround is quoted per job, in writing, once we know the volume and the schedule.
  • No security certifications. We do not hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2 and we will not imply that we do. What we actually do with your data.
  • No claims about capacity or machinery. If you need to know whether we can absorb a particular volume in a particular week, ask, and you will get a real answer.

When any of these changes — a real case study, a certification, a published turnaround — it will appear here with the evidence attached.

How we would rather work

Start small. A 200-piece test against a control tells you more about your own customers than any amount of persuasion from us, and if it does not work you have spent a few hundred dollars finding that out.

We will also tell you when the answer is no. Handwritten mail is expensive per piece and there are plenty of situations — thin margins, huge cold lists, a weak offer — where it is the wrong tool. Saying so costs us one campaign and is worth more than winning it.

Talk to us

Email hello@autopenaustralia.com, or use the form, which is faster because it asks for the things we would otherwise have to email you about.

Tell us about your campaign

Send us the shape of it — how many, how long, envelopes or not, when you need it — and we will come back with an exact quote.
